Adolfo Hurtado

Executive Director & Chief Winemaker

Adolfo Hurtado studied agronomy at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and specialized in winemaking soon after. In 1997, at the age of 27, Adolfo joined Cono Sur as the Chief Winemaker, and has since become the company´s General Manager.

From the very beginning, Adolfo´s main goals were to only produce top quality wines and always maintain a spirit of innovation. As Cono Sur grew, Adolfo´s style evolved, and the company took on pioneering winemaking methods along with adding a wide array of grape varieties to its portfolio.

Adolfo has led Cono Sur into what it is today one of the largest wineries in Chile and one of the largest producers of Pinot Noir in the world. More so, he has been able to combine environmental concerns with innovative policies, all while producing top quality wines. He firmly believes that Cono Sur understands and has achieved the best versions of New World wines. Through intense fruit aromas and elegant concentrations with ever-fuller palates, Cono Sur´s products convey the finest of Chile´s gifted wine valleys.

Adolfo Hurtado´s talent and passion have been internationally recognized with the following:
